As a designer, you need to be aware of the current trends in many aspects of the design world, especially that of color. Above you will find a chart that I created to show Pantone’s Fall 2013 Color Report. The vibrant, eye-catching colors that we saw all summer are still in, but with a slightly muted tone to them. The colors can work very nicely together to create a hue-rich palette that will be sure to catch the eyes of it’s viewers.
With the recent trend of color blocking, in both the design and fashion world, one can see how these bold colors would work very nicely used in that trend. The colors from this color palette could also work nicely with another popular design trend of using a muted or monochromatic palette along with a vibrant pop of color (which can be seen in my post on Design Systems with A Pop of Color). I can really see Koi as well as Emerald working very nicely within that sort of system, they are very bold and attention seeking colors, that would help with the visual hierarchy in any design.
Can you think of any designs that you have seen recently that uses one of the colors or maybe a whole palette of these colors? Either in print, web, fashion, interior decorating, etc.
